Warner Bros. Has Plans For Three Harley Quinn Movies

2016’s Suicide Squad may have received a critical response on par with finding a lump of dog shit on your shoe, but it still made a whole bunch of money. One of the few positively received aspects of the whole affair was Margot Robbie’s take on Harley Quinn, the Joker’s on again/off again girlfriend. This, perhaps, is not too surprising, though.

After all, Quinn has been a fan favorite since her debut on Batman: The Animated Series way back in 1992, before transferring to the DC Universe proper and subsequently appearing in all manner of Batman projects. Now, in the wake of the catastrophe that was Justice League, Warner Bros are eager to capitalize on this success, and have no less than three projects in various stages of development that all circle around Robbie’s Quinn.

First up is the most obvious, Suicide Squad 2. Word is that Warner Bros.

Here Are the 3 Harley Quinn Movies in Contention at Warner Bros.
There’s little question that “I, Tonya” star Margot Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn from 2016’s “Suicide Squad” — but it’s unclear which of 3 films will feature the bat-wielding psychiatrist-gone-mad.

Warner Bros. is weighing each of the projects as the next platform for Robbie, presently winning acclaim for playing Tonya Harding in “I, Tonya.” Insiders described each of the 3 films for TheWrap, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the uncertainty around where Harley will turn up next: “Suicide Squad 2.” This would be the most obvious place for the former Dr. Harleen Quinzel to pop up. Gavin O’Connor is expected...

Leonardo DiCaprio Will Play a Washed-Up Actor in Quentin Tarantino’s Manson Movie, Which Might Cast Tom Cruise Next
Here’s something you might not have noticed: Leonardo DiCaprio hasn’t starred in a movie since he won an Academy Award for his performance in “The Revenant.” That makes his casting in Quentin Tarantino’s next film doubly significant, as the actor’s choosiness brings even more attention to his projects. Mike Fleming Jr., writing for Deadline, has some details on said projects — namely that DiCaprio will be playing an actor whose heyday has long since passed and that the movie is a “‘Pulp Fiction’–esque tapestry of Los Angeles during the summer of the Manson murders.”

Leonardo DiCaprio to play an ageing Western TV star in Quentin Tarantino’s new film

While there is still a ton of mystery surrounding Quentin Tarantino’s latest film — under the working title #9 (number 9… number 9… number 9…?) — details have been slowly creeping out of the woodwork.

What we know: We know the movie will take place in the 1960’s, will involve Sharon Tate to some degree, and will have the Manson murders as a backdrop to the main plot. The main plot allegedly involved two actors trying to break into Hollywood. Actors in talks for parts include Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Tom Cruise, while Leonardo DiCaprio is now a lock to star.

So, who will DiCaprio play? Well, we don’t have a name, but we reportedly now have a character description. Deadline’s Mike Fleming gives a fairly detailed description of the character that DiCaprio will portray in the untitled film:

“What he plays, more specifically, is an actor who had his own Western show,

Diablo Returning For Suicide Squad 2?

Long before Suicide Squad debuted in theaters, confidence was high in the Warner Bros. camp as the studio quietly assembled plans for a sequel, not to mention that Harley Quinn-fronted spinoff.

Those plans took a major blow days before David Ayer’s anti-hero feature arrived, though, when early reviews painted Suicide Squad as a calamitous mess and, perhaps most disappointing of all, a wasted opportunity. But the box office numbers said otherwise and after pulling in a whopping $745 million, Suicide Squad 2 is now brewing in post-production.

Already, we know that Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith are all back on board to reprise their respective roles – Joker, Harley Quinn and Deadshot – and it seems they’ll be joined by a few more familiar faces as well: Captain Boomerang, Rick Flag and Diablo. Yes, you read that last one right. Diablo will be back for the sequel. Or at least,

Leonardo DiCaprio's Character Revealed in Tarantino's Next Movie

Leonardo DiCaprio's Character Revealed in Tarantino's Next Movie
It was announced last week that Leonardo DiCaprio is officially attached to Quentin Tarantino's Manson era Movie, which takes place in 1969. DiCaprio had been rumored to be in talks for months, and now that it's official. We finally know what part he'll be playing in the project. Months ago, an actor who reportedly read for a part in the movie revealed some of the plot details, which mentioned a washed-up TV star and his stuntman sidekick trying to make it into Hollywood movies.

The initial report was, for the most part, correct and it has now been revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio will be playing the aforementioned former TV star. Deadline reports that DiCaprio plays an aging actor who had his own Western TV show that aired from 1958 to 1963. Leonardo DiCaprio's character will be shown at the height of the hippy movement in 1969 trying to get a Western career going again.

Here’s Who Leonardo DiCaprio Will Play in Quentin Tarantino’s Next Film

Much anticipation surrounds the next film from Quentin Tarantino, for a number of reasons. For one, if Tarantino sticks to his plan to retire after 10 films, this is his penultimate effort. For another, the story takes place in 1969 and in some way involves the Manson Murders. But maybe most intriguingly, the casting on this untitled film is really interesting. Margot Robbie has an offer to play Sharon Tate but a deal hasn’t yet closed—it's possible filming may conflict with her contractually obligated Suicide Squad 2, which Warner Bros. hopes to get in front of cameras …

The projected “Fifty Shades Freed” launch isn’t as strong as its predecessors “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which opened with $85.2 million in 2015, and “Fifty Shades Darker,” which opened with $46.6 million on the same weekend last year. The two films, co-starring Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, have combined to gross $950 million worldwide.

Tracking shows “Fifty Shades Freed” with an impressive 74% total awareness and 26% definite interest. E.L. James’ erotic romance trilogy was a sensation when published in 2011 and 2012. James Foley directed “Fifty Shades Freed” from a script by Niall Leonard, James’ husband.
