Boba Fett Film Rumored to be in Development by Simon Kinberg

Boba Fett Film Rumored to be in Development by Simon Kinberg
A standalone Boba Fett movie has been announced for some time. However, there were some serious doubts about whether the movie would ever get made because the initial director Josh Trank was fired over Fantastic Four. Some sources have claimed that Trank was fired because of his poor behavior on the set for the movie, whereas other sources have claimed that the movie’s poor performance at the box office was the primary factor. Whatever the case, the firing of Trank as well as a prolonged lack of news put the Boba Fett movie into something of a limbo, so much

‘Crashing’ Season 2 Trailer: Pete Holmes Is Looking For Star Quality

Crashing” is back! Hooray? I don’t know many people who are particularly enthused by the HBO comedy, which doesn’t have the water cooler flavor of some of their premiere titles. But maybe that’s the low key, secret sauce that has helped it stick around. However, “Togetherness” was similarly under the radar and the network yanked it, despite very good notices.

Anyway, Pete Holmes leads the show, playing a newly single comedian, trying to find love and keep his career going, all in the hustle and bustle of New York City.

There are many ways that “Justice League” could’ve started, but we honestly never thought it would be a scene with kids making a podcast. How very #ontrend. Josh and Benny Safdie to Remake ’48 Hours’ With Jerrod Carmichael

Josh and Benny Safdie to Remake ’48 Hours’ With Jerrod Carmichael
Good Time” filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie have chosen their next project, and it’s a bit of a doozy. The Queens-bred filmmaking duo will helm a remake of “48 Hours,” the 1982 crime comedy starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy, Josh Safdie confirmed to IndieWire. “The Carmichael Show” co-creator and star Jerrod Carmichael will co-write the script.

“48 Hours” was an early addition to the buddy cop genre, and an early big screen success for Murphy. The odd couple comedy tells the story of a cop (Nolte) and a convict (Murphy) who team up to catch a pair of cop-killers. The title refers to the fact that Murphy’s character, a former cop serving time for armed robbery, is released from prison for 48 hours in order to help solve the murders. The movie was originally directed by the illustrious Walter Hill (“The Warriors”), produced by Joel Silver, and starred James Remar and Annette O’Toole.

Fox: A 20th & 21st Century Timeline Of Key Moments Under The Murdochs
With Disney’s $66B acquisition of key 21st Century Fox assets, today marks the dismantling of a legendary studio that got its start all the way back in 1904 — about a century ahead of the iconic New York Street set (and the lamented poor cell-reception in Building 88) of the Pico Boulevard lot. Sofia Coppola on the Dangerous Femininity of ‘The Beguiled’: Awards Season Spotlight Profile

Sofia Coppola on the Dangerous Femininity of ‘The Beguiled’: Awards Season Spotlight Profile
In Sofia Coppola’s lush Southern folktale-turned-thriller “The Beguiled,” danger lurks beneath everything pretty. The grandiose manor house, the romantic porch front, and the lace-lined pillows all hold their own pristine mystery. When a wounded Union soldier (Colin Farrell) is taken in by the girls of Miss Martha’s (Nicole Kidman) boarding school, he puts their Southern gentility to the test by ensnaring each in her own special way. Jealousy and possessiveness take hold, and the Corporal’s presence becomes as menacing as it once was enlivening. The film competed for the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where Coppola became only the third woman to ever win best director. Hearing her discuss her aesthetic vision in this IndieWire Awards Spotlight interview, it’s not hard to see why.

WGA West Slams Disney/Fox Merger As “Relentless Drive To Eliminate Competition”

What initially started as conversations about how cool it would be if Wolverine could punch Thanos, has turned into a very real concern about corporate overreach. Disney‘s deal to buy Fox has opened plenty of questions about its significant impact on the media landscape. Creators are gravely concerned about the elimination of an entire film and television studio as it gets absorbed into the mouse house, and it hasn’t taken long for guilds to start speaking out.
