J.J. Abrams Shopping TV Space Drama Script (Exclusive)
J.J. Abrams, currently immersed in the Star Wars feature film universe, is plotting his return to TV writing.

The prolific writer, producer and director is shopping a space-set spec script that, should it go to series, would be the first show he wrote and created since Fringe in 2008. Sources say Apple and HBO — where Abrams serves as an Ep on Westworld — are both in the running for the untitled drama, with producers Warner Bros. Television also open to additional bidders as the project is still being shopped. Warners, Apple and HBO all declined comment.

‘The Walking Dead’ Star Chandler Riggs Insists ‘Carl Wasn’t Being Forgotten’
Of all the deaths we’ve been through on “The Walking Dead,” the death of Carl Grimes just might hit the hardest — especially because of the cliffhanger way the audience found out about his fate. Actor Chandler Riggs, who plays the one-eyed son of the show’s main character, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), is happy with the legacy his character is leaving behind, though. “It’s really cool knowing that my character still has a legacy that was left behind,” Riggs said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Carl wasn’t being forgotten. He might be gone, but he’s leaving behind something that’s...

Guy In Harlem Sending An Entire Boys And Girls Club To See Black Panther

The idea of a man in Harlem sending an entire Boys and Girls Club to see Black Panther is pretty cool. Considering that Black Panther is the first black superhero to debut in comics it’s even more special since it kind of gives a bit of hope and inspiration to the African-American kids that the man is focusing upon to go see the film. I can see the value in this just as anyone else can since Wonder Woman did pretty much the same thing for women when it came out. I do hope that his offer is inclusive though

Todd McFarlane Explains why R-Rated Spawn Won’t be like Deadpool or Logan

On the subject of why Todd McFarlane expects his movie, an R-rated Spawn remake, or reboot, will not be like Deadpool or Logan, it’s easy to say that he sounds kind of like an arrogant elitist that can’t imagine why anyone else’s work should be considered that great. I mean really, here’s a quote: “It’s funny in Hollywood, if you say you want to do an R-rated movie, they go like “Oh like Deadpool or Logan?” For me, no. To me, Deadpool was the PG-13 action movie, it just had some naked butts and a couple of f-bombs. Other than

‘Harry Potter’ Fan-Fiction Film about Voldemort’s Origin is Blowing Up

Harry Potter fan-fiction is great to see, though in regards to Voldemort’s origin I kind of thought we were going to see something a little closer to the origin of his being, not his school days. It’s no wonder why this film is blowing up on the internet though, it does paint a very vivid picture of the days leading into his reign as one of the most dangerous dark wizards ever. The simple fact is that Tom Marvolo Riddle was always bad in some way. From the beginning of his life to the end there was little chance of

TV Critics Share Their Best Interview Experiences — IndieWire Survey

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: Which is the interview you are proudest of? Not only who you got to speak to, but how the interaction and final product turned out.

Pilot Viruet (@pilotbacon), Freelance

My immediate thought was this interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin, who I was obsessed with as a child and who still remains in my top three wrestlers. He was kind and insightful, but most of my favorite excerpts are from after the official interview, when we just chatted about politics and writing styles — a lovely surprise from a guy who is perhaps best known for dumping beer on his own head! But I’m most proud
