I want to preface my review by saying, I'm completely open to changes in the story if they're done well. This is not done well. The acting is stiff, and horrible, and lines (that are cheesy) are delivered without feeling. The fight scenes are bad, and also cheesy. The special effects are not done well, to put it nicely. Honestly, the only thing good about this show was that the actors and actresses were styled impeccably: perfect, hair, makeup, clothes. But what does that all matter when the rest is horrible? I'm a huge fan of the books, and while I was disappointed with how the movie hugely deviated from the original story line, I still liked the movie and appreciated it. This new show is just bad and extremely disappointing.
