Not great, but passable
5 October 2017 | by (Romania) – See all my reviews

This movie is the definition of a slow burn, but without much of a pay off. Granted, I didn't finish watching the movie. After patiently waiting for 50 minutes for something to get me hooked, I completely bailed (I know, I was disappointed in me too) and came here to complain about it.

Plot-wise, there's isn't much going on. From what I understood, the director wanted to focus on the poetry of human emotions. That's a heavy task to take on, to say the least. Basically, the movie revolves around a young woman who experiences heartbreak and the actress in main role, Min-hee Kim, is really wonderful in it. You can see that she cares a lot about giving a good performance. She's very minimal in her actions, but they feel like they belong to this character. Honestly, she carries this movie.

Now for the bad things: the main thing that annoyed me was the camera movement. It was such an eye sore. Most of the shots used are static, and that's good, but at times they try to zoom in and 90% of the time, it looks horrible. Like a home movie a 10 year old makes. I got so distracted by it. It really took me out of the movie. Plus, the static shots would've been even better with some good dialogue, but the script is just ...okay. Not great, but passable.

I guess the main idea is that there's nothing really special about this movie. The script is passable, the sound design is passable, the editing is passable, the directing is passable. The only thing that's good is Min-hee Kim. If you're a fan of hers, you won't regret watching this.
